How to Write a win–win Cover Letter
Cover letters are a great opportunity to cover qualifications we can’t fully explain in our resumes otherwise known as CV. In addition, they help personalize job applicants to enable them to come across more as real people to potential employers. Don't miss out on the chance to land the job. To take advantage of a cover letter's full potential.
- Salutation: There are a number of cover letters to choose from. And, the greeting you choose will depend on how much information you have about the company. If you know the name of the hiring manager, your salutation should be "Dear [ name]" followed by either a comma. Make sure to address the manager formally using their proper title (Mr., Mrs., etc.). If you don't know the name of the hiring manager, alternatively, consider addressing your letter "Dear Hiring Manager," "Dear Recruiting Team,". Do not address in this manner "To whom it may concern,".
- First paragraph: Is where you will mention the job for which you're applying and how you found the job listing. Note: It should not be more than 1 or 2 sentences long!
- Second paragraphs: Most cover letters will only have 1 or 2 body paragraphs. You need not to overwhelm the hiring manager. However, endeavour to answer the following questions in this paragraphs: Why am I a qualified candidate for this position? What work experience do I have that fits the job requirements? Why do I want to work for this company?.
- The final paragraph: This will be where you summarize and discuss how you will proceed with the application. Do include_why you're a perfect for the position. More importantly, provide your contact information which should Includes functioning email address and your phone number so the hiring manager can get in touch with you. Thank the person for their time.
- Closing statement: "Best" is a unique options (I.e immediately after thanks). Also, finish the letter by typing your full name.
