Pros and cons of Condoms.

Condoms are barrier form of birth control, they are available for both the men and women. Female condom fits inside the vagina and the male condoms entirely covers the penis.
Availability: Male condoms are easily available where as availability of female condoms is relatively low.
Price: Female condoms are relatively expensive then male condoms.
Effectiveness: Both the condoms provide effective protection against sexual transmitted diseases (STDs) and unwanted pregnancy. Male condoms are considered to be more effective than female condoms. They (male condoms) are 85% effective for birth control while female condoms are 75 % effective contraceptive method.
Lubricants: With female condoms you can either use oil-based or water-based lubricants. If you are using male latex condoms then only water based lubricants can be used. However, if the condom is made up of polyurethane or lamb intestine then you can safely use any kind of lubricant.
Usage: Male condoms are placed just before intercourse. Female condoms can be inserted eight hours before sex.
Comfort:  ‘Comfort’ and ‘condoms’ are antonyms for men. Some people complain that it is difficult to insert female condoms, especially the inner rim of the condom. Some criticise them for the fact that they move during the act and is really distracting. On the contrary, male condom snugly fits around the penis and stays on its place while you have sex. If you are not using right size then it can slip or break.

Other Differences
Male condoms have tight ring at one end that is meant to hold to on penis. Rings at end of female condoms are meant for keep it from slipping into body orifice. While Female condoms are made of polyurethane. However some companies are also using nitrile to make female condoms. On the contrary, male condoms are manufactured from various materials such as latex, polyurethane and lamb intestines.

Some people complain that female condoms make noise during sex. However, this problem can be avoided by using extra lubricants.
Both of them have their own share of positives and negatives. Some people love to use male condoms while the others totally despise them, same is true for female condoms as well. It is all about your needs and preferences.
